Are you calmly roasting your chestnuts over an open fire, listening to Bing Crosby while watching the twinkle of your Christmas tree lights?
No? I didn’t think so!
There’s no escaping the temptation to live fast and do more these days. The advent of technology was intended to give us more free time, but for most it’s led to a bigger list and slavery to our devices!
Here at Bounce HQ we have taken our foot off the accelerator after a fast and furious year of creating, branding, attending, promoting and presenting! We’ve had a real blast, it’s been amazing being able to help so many people – but even with our bouncy techniques we’ve found ourselves a bit frazzled at times. A clear memory for me is the three of us in sunny Seaton on ‘retreat’. Picture us at a well know coffee establishment – laptops poised and topped up with endless cappuccinos and tea – steam coming off of the keys as we put together our website piece by piece, frown by frown, word by word and html code by html code!
Stress at a peaceful time
It can be easy to tell yourself you ‘must’ finish your list, be the best family member, never forget a thing and still remember to post a picture of your tea at the end of the day…but maybe there is a different voice quietly whispering…
…the voice of calm, of peace and wellbeing. The voice that wants the best for you and has the key to living your best life. This is the voice we want to encourage at Discover Your Bounce.
So my fellow Directors and I have put on our thinking caps to bring you an alternative 12 days of Christmas. To give to yourself first, so that you can be the best version of yourself and pass on positivity to everyone you meet and support during the festive season.
So make a cuppa, sit back and join us – or save this to your favourites and read one a day…
Our first tips come from Lifestyle Director Laura Barnett

Day One: Give Peace a chance… take some time out for you. It’s important as well as spending time with your family to give yourself some down time so take an opportunity maybe for a relaxing bath, a trip to the shops for some alone time in the car or ask for an undisturbed lie-in with a cuppa and a good book.
Day Two: Know where to go… Have a list of things you want to do or places you want to go – this time of year always catches you out when cabin fever has kicked in and you’re just itching for a change of scene. Have a go at a list to help actually get you out of the house with a destination in mind.
Day Three: Get the juices flowing… if there’s a hobby, new activity or place you’ve wanted to go that’s in your plan for 2018 start looking online now for timetables, locations, clubs, helpful review sites etc and plant the seed of excitement.
Day Four: Buy some cable ties… this will help you keep those Christmas Lights wrapped up nice and tidily and prevent detangling stress next season! Fail to plan… plan to fail 🙂
Next up Business Director Sharon Critchlow

Day Five: Stock up with peppermint tea or make fresh mint tea, give your digestive system a chance of recovery!
Day Six: You can be right, or you can be happy! Does it really matter if your Dad says the same cringy joke every year, or you Brother winds you up? Enjoy them whilst they are here, it’s only one day and it gives you an opportunity to practice kindness.
Day Seven: Blow away the cobwebs. Enjoy every gap in the weather and go for a walk. Have you noticed how many animals are still about, particularly Birds of Prey?
Day Eight: Chat by the fireside – we call it Caveman TV. Be like our ancestors and share a story or a thought.
And finally here are tips from me, Nicky Marshall

Day Nine: It’s easy to get cross with someone and let your anger spoil the day. Use the Hawaiian technique, ‘H’oponopono’ which means ‘Please forgive me, I’m sorry, I love you, thank you.’ Repeat the word three times and then forget about it.
Day Ten: Remember to breathe…I know we all do this every day, but take three long, slow, deep breaths and bring your attention into the present. Memories are made in this moment – are you watching?
Day Eleven: Watch a sunrise or a sunset each day. We live on an amazing planet and observing the start and end of a day gives us chance to reflect on our actions and opportunities.
Day Twelve: Remember the important things. Perhaps you have one important goal, or several small ones. Each day take a small step towards one of them – whether it’s choosing a salad, giving up something that’s bad for you, tidying a drawer or doing one kind gesture. To do nothing is still a choice – so why not make every day in 2018 count?
So those are our tips and we hope you enjoy them.
Wishing you an incredibly merry Christmas, a relaxing Yule, an enjoyable time whatever you celebrate…and a wonder-full 2018.
We would love you to follow more tips on our Facebook page here and if we can help you we would love to – all of our services are on our website.
