It’s December, people are busy buying presents, writing cards and getting ready to wind down the year…but does it feel even more crazy this year?
People I have been speaking to are having a challenging time – with ‘out of the blue’ illnesses, things going wrong with their homes…or just a general feel that this year is even more confusing than any other!
This month is presenting itself with the perfect energy storm and whether you are open to this or not – observe the people around you and make up your own mind…or tuck the techniques I mention into your back pocket just in case you need them!
Firstly, this is the month where we all look back at the year gone by and start to plan for a new year ahead.
Secondly, with a full moon occurring on the 15th followed by a waning moon, we are being encouraged to end and let go of anything not serving us.
Thirdly, on the 19th December we are heading into a Mercury Retrograde, a time when Mercury ‘appears’ to go backwards, when technology goes haywire, communication goes awry and we are encouraged to re-visit, re-view and again, let go of what’s not working to clear energy to make room for a new opportunity.
And lastly the numerology of 2016 is 9 – endings, consolidation and clearing out the old ready for 2017 – 1 energy – new beginnings, new projects and a new energy.
So if any or all of the above strike a chord…or if you would like to wrap your head in tin foil or head for the nearest desert island here are three things you can do to stop the chaos:
- Stop!!! Take a breath, take some time and refrain from making any decision whatsoever. Nothing is so urgent that it won’t wait for 10 minutes – and sometimes we can decide not to decide!
- Observe. Are you tense? Are you with positive people or negative nellies? Are you in a place you love? Are you in need of some good nutrition and a big sleep?
- Choose! To do nothing is still a choice! What one thing could you do right now that would ease the pressure? If you try to do too much you will feel overwhelmed, so be gentle, be kind and just make one choice that your future self will thank you for?
Lastly remember that everything is temporary – even the most craziest of times will pass. Try to remember all the pockets of good that happen in between the chaos, or the good people in your life that support you – no matter how small there is always something to be grateful for.
And if nothing else, buy yourself some new socks and your most fabulous treat and take a night off with that most favourite movie!
