Bounce Beach Party at Business Showcase 2019!

The 9th Business Showcase South West was on Wednesday 19th June 2019 at Ashton Gate Stadium. We shared a successful day with over 250 exhibitors, meeting amazing individuals and being inspired by the talks held on the day.

Beach balls, blow up palm trees and a flamingo?!

To bring the fun to our stand in true Bounce style we hosted a beach party ! We served delicious mocktails made by our resident mixologist Horace Buckenham who specially created two mocktails, inspired by our business.

Exhibitors and delegates walking past were curious about what we do. It worked well as we almost lost our voices by the end of the day! While enjoying the free mocktails, we learned about our visitors’ workplace culture and what wellbeing initatives or strategies that are already in place.

Anyone for a mocktail?

We are all about health and happiness, which is why the ingredients chosen for our mocktails were not only a tasty treat, but also contained some vitamin goodness. Here are some recipes – why not try them for your next BBQ?

Tigger Tonic: Made with pineapple juice, ginger syrup and tonic water topped with a Tigger flag and a slice of fresh pineapple.

Bounce on the Beach: Made with lime juice, orange juice, lychee puree and topped with a slice of orange and a viola.

The importance of workplace wellbeing is on the rise

We know that businesses are investing more time and money into wellbeing. Strategies from mental health first aiders to stress reduction  workshops have been on the rise. We are so glad to see more employers realising the benefits of implementing preventative wellbeing measures. These reduce absences due to stress related illnesses or mental health conditions.

The interest in our range of wellbeing initiatives, showed employers wanting to start these conversations about mental health and general wellbeing in the workplace.

This is where we bring our expertise!

We teach employers and employees how to start wellbeing conversations, how to recognise stress within their teams and how to manage it. To say we prevent stress is unrealistic, as stress will remain a common part of life. What’s important, is how you respond and bounce back from it.

What works best for you?

Is the question we ask, as no team is the same. Here are our findings from the day.

For a smaller business the personal wellbeing and mentoring programmes we offer are ideal so we directed them to our ‘My Wellbeing’ starter kit. We believe positivity is contagious, if one person feels stronger they are ready to help others feel the same. If one person starts the day carrying yesterday’s stress, it can affect the office.

The bigger and long established businesses would benefit more from investing into workplace wellbeing strategies. To build the team resilience, reduce stress and bring about new time management tools we directed them to our Business Engage! Programme. We invited visitors to our FREE Engage workshops at the Bristol and Bath Science Park for a taster session of what we can do.
